Why is it so important for students to master the grammatical structures of sentences?
The grammatical parts of speech and basic sentence structures are the building blocks of all written and spoken communication; therefore, a comprehensive understanding of grammar can help students to become better readers and writers who are capable of creating and comprehending complex texts.

How can grammar help students to improve their reading, reasoning, and writing skills?
Knowledge of grammatical structures helps students to recognize, analyze, and recreate the logical relationships within and between sentences that writers and speakers use to create meaning. Sentence analysis leads to sentence comprehension, and sentence comprehension leads to reading comprehension.  Sentence Smart demystifies grammar and helps students become fully familiar with the various parts of speech and sentence structures in dynamic, interactive ways. All of this is done through directed student discovery™ as students create, expand, and analyze sentences.
