Sentence Smart Language Arts is an exciting phonics, grammar, vocabulary, and social studies based reading comprehension and writing skills curriculum. For example, Sentence Smart Grammar teaches students the art of taking words and sentences apart. It helps students to analyze how words get their meaning and to imitate how writers organize words to create complete, coherent thoughts. This curriculum also emphasizes knowledge-building, content rich resources.

Curriculum Overview
Sentence Smart Phonics
Our "Sound and Say" phonics program helps parents to teach their children how to master the English alphabet's sound-symbol relationships. Through a combination of physical texts, color-coded letter cards, and instructional videos, students learn how to decode, say, and spell words according to the sounds that each letter or combination of letters represents.
Sentence Smart Grammar

Our grammar program is called Sentence Smart because sentence comprehension is the key to reading comprehension, and sentence construction is the key to effective writing. Sentence Smart Grammar consists of an easy-to-read textbook, student workbooks, parts of speech cards, and question-creation cards™. Sentence Smart helps children to build and analyze complex sentences. It helps students to improve their reading comprehension and writing skills by showing them how to construct and physically disassemble, analyze, label, and reassemble sentences. This Sentence Analysis System™ is called Magnetic-Grammar. It equips students to understand how writers organize groups of words to communicate their ideas clearly and creatively.

Sentence Smart Vocabulary

In our multisensory vocabulary modules, students learn how to analyze and assemble words. Students learn how to acquire a powerful vocabulary by building and analyzing words from their roots, prefixes, and suffixes. A rich vocabulary is essential for reading comprehension and effective writing.

We use social studies to teach students the background knowledge they need to understand and write about every they read.
Our social studies "Knowledge-Builders" program combines color-coded "knowledge cards," historical documents, and current events articles to help students cultivate a rich and growing knowledge about history and the world. |

Screen time can make kids passive: they watch videos, click a few times to answer some questions, and walk away--without learning anything of substance with depth. They learn by using magnetic pieces and color-coded cards to physically disassemble, analyze, and reassemble words and sentences. They read physical books (not just PDF's).
