Prep online for the Word Skills Championship
To prepare for the Word Skills Championship, students should use The Spelling Gym. The Spelling Gym is our online word-knowledge class, which has spelling rules and spelling tools that allow students to master English vocabulary and spelling. Our spelling tools consist of online interactive flashcards, several ways to study each word, and phonotactics (rules that govern how words are spelled). This digital, interactive “Spelling Gym” provides daily access to one of the most comprehensive libraries of important Latin and Greek roots and prefixes along with their derivatives (words that are formed from those roots and prefixes). This class also contains lists of academic words, which are prevalent in most of the texts that students have to read from grades 3-12.
